“May the odds be ever in your favor” ~ Effie, The Hunger Games
Are “the odds ever in” our “favor”? (Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games) After watching the first Hunger Games movie, I started to wonder whether anything is our “favor” (Collins, The Hunger Games). Every time we turn our TVs and listen to the news it seems like the world is coming to an end. There is always bad news after the other. Then there is the economy. There are still people who got laid off and others who have recently graduated from college looking for jobs and there is not much out there. There is always battles for all of these people, knowing they all are competing for similar jobs. What does it take to make “the odds in” our “favor” (Collins, The Hunger Games)?
